Nominations Now Open for the SHERQ Impact Awards Botswana 2026
Honouring Leadership and Excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality
Kasane, Botswana — Nominations are officially open for the SHERQ Impact Awards Botswana 2026, and the call is out to organizations, professionals, community groups, informal sector players, wellness champions, and media practitioners who are making meaningful contributions to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ).
Hosted by SHE ON STANDBY, the SHERQ Impact Awards are a first-of-their-kind platform in Botswana designed to celebrate leadership, innovation, and measurable impact in building safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplaces and communities. The Awards Ceremony will take place on 27 April 2026 in Kasane, uniting stakeholders from across Botswana and the SADC region.
Recognising Impact Across All Sectors and Levels
The Awards acknowledge that SHERQ leadership comes in many forms — from large-scale corporate systems to grassroots community efforts. Nominations are now open across the following six category groupings:
Corporate & Organisational
For companies and institutions demonstrating strong SHERQ systems, visible leadership commitment, and sustained operational excellence.
Informal Sector & Community
Celebrating grassroots initiatives, informal enterprises, and community-led programs advancing safety, health, or environmental awareness.
Individual & Professional
Honouring outstanding professionals whose actions, leadership, and dedication have advanced SHERQ practice and inspired others.
Wellness & Wellbeing
For programs and initiatives that prioritize holistic worker wellbeing — including mental, emotional, physical, and social aspects of healthy workplaces.
Media & Public Awareness
Recognizing media platforms, content creators, and journalists who have raised public awareness, changed perceptions, and shaped national conversations on SHERQ.
Regional (SADC)
Open to individuals and organizations outside Botswana whose efforts have demonstrated excellence, collaboration, and impact across the Southern African region.
Shifting from Compliance to Culture
The SHERQ Impact Awards are not just about celebration — they are part of a larger movement. A movement toward:
- Prevention-first thinking
- Shared responsibility for safety
- Continuous improvement
- Strong workplace cultures grounded in care, leadership, and sustainability
By opening nominations widely — across sectors, regions, and stakeholder groups — the Awards reflect the true diversity of SHERQ excellence on the ground.
Aligned with World Day for Safety and Health at Work
The SHERQ Awards are timed to coincide with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work (28 April 2026). To mark this global day, SHE ON STANDBY will also take part in the National Safety and Health March in Kasane, alongside government, industry, and community stakeholders.
This public march extends the impact of the Awards beyond the ceremony, reinforcing safety and health as national values that affect us all — not just at work, but in everyday life.
