Botswana Government Endorses SHERQ Impact Awards 2026
Promoting Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality Across All Sectors
Kasane, Botswana — The SHERQ Impact Awards Botswana 2026 have officially received the endorsement and partnership of the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, through the Department of Occupational Health and Safety (DOSH). This powerful collaboration represents a significant milestone in national efforts to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces across Botswana.
Organized by SHE ON STANDBY, the SHERQ Impact Awards recognize excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) across corporate, community, and regional spheres. This partnership with the Ministry ensures that the Awards are not only aligned with national priorities — but also positioned to make lasting impact.
Anchored to the Global ILO Calendar
The 2026 edition aligns with the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work, celebrated on 28 April each year. The 2026 global theme, “Good psychosocial working environments: A pathway to thriving workers and strong organizations,” will be echoed throughout the Awards, from keynote discussions to nomination categories.
Through this alignment, the Awards move beyond compliance — fostering a culture of prevention, wellbeing, and leadership at all levels.
Expanding the National Safety Conversation
By hosting the event in Kasane, the Awards deliberately move the safety conversation away from traditional urban centers, offering national inclusion and spotlighting the Chobe District as a destination for safety innovation, workplace excellence, and sustainable development.
Community Engagement Through the National Safety March
In commemoration of World Day for Safety and Health, SHE ON STANDBY will also participate in the National Safety and Health March on 28 April 2026 in Kasane — engaging employers, employees, and community members in an active show of unity for safety and wellbeing.
Shared Commitment. Shared Impact.
This partnership between SHE ON STANDBY and the Ministry reflects a shared national vision: to protect lives, elevate workplace culture, and reinforce that safety is everyone’s business.
Join us as we build a safer Botswana — one initiative at a time.
